decayed film reel that cannot be digitized - covert movie reels

Convert Movie Film Reels Before It’s Too Late

We love to convert movie film reels so that families can enjoy and share them again. Still photos are wonderful, but there’s something extra special about seeing moving pictures of loved ones that are grown, moved, or passed away.

But sometimes, sadly, it’s just too late. We’re working on a large film conversion project and most of the movies are fine, but some have decayed so much that it’s impossible to digitize or even view the film.

film reel that bends easily

If your film is brittle, cracking, or crumbles on contact then it might be too late to preserve it. An easy test you can try at home is to curl the film in the opposite direction of the reel it’s on. If you can make an S shape with the film it can probably be digitized, but if it cracks when you bend it then it’s probably too late.

If you have old film reels, please get them digitized today before it’s too late! You can always bring your film to our studio or contact us for a free assessment. We’d love the opportunity to help you convert your movie reels.
