Cabinet Card

By the 1870s, the larger cabinet card format supplanted carte de visites. Look for a 4 × 5.5 inch albumen print mounted on a thick card that usually has an ornate studio logo on the back. Cabinet cards remained popular until the early 1900s when the Eastman Kodak Company released the Brownie box camera and made personal photography accessible to the masses.
