VHS-C

VHS-C is the compact VHS videocassette format, introduced by JVC in 1982 and used primarily for consumer-grade analog camcorders. VHS-C tapes used the same tape technology as VHS, but in a shorter length and smaller plastic cassette. These tapes can be played in a standard VHS VCR with a special tape adapter or in a VHS-C camcorder.
