Mini-Cassette

Phillips released the mini-cassette format in 1967 as a magnetic tape recording used in answering machines, transcription devices, and dictation machines. It’s a very small format, but the miniature devices result in inconsistent playback speeds. Therefore these tapes were used for voice recordings, but not high-fidelity music recordings.
