MultiMediaCard (MMC)
The MMC format was released in 1997 by Siemens and SanDisk. MMC cards are almost identical to SD cards, and MMC cards can be used in SD card slots, but not vice versa. The MMC format never saw widespread adoption and was displaced by the SD card format.
