Photo CD

The Photo CD (PCD) format was introduced by Kodak in 1991 and for about a decade was very popular among professional photographers. The Photo CD format included high-quality scans at high resolution, stored on compact disc media. Unfortunately, support for this format faded after about a decade as Kodak stopped supporting the Photo CD market, never documented the format, and didn’t use industry standards for recording the CDs. Kodak Photo CD is one of the worst examples of a proprietary, abandoned digital format and are very difficult to convert.
