Picture CD

Kodak released the Picture CD format in 1998 as a more affordable, consumer version of the Photo CD format. Picture CDs contain low-resolution JPEGs at 1536×1024 pixels per file, which is barely large enough to make a 4×6 print. Picture CDs were scanned from 35mm and APS film, so if the original film is available then rescanning the negatives can result in higher quality.
