SyJet

SyQuest released the SyJet removable storage product in 1995 with a 1.5GB capacity. This offered 50% more storage than the Iomega Jaz drives it competed with. Unfortunately, the SyJet drive wasn’t backwards compatible with previous 3.5″ formats from SyQuest or with the SyQuest Sparq disks released by the same company one year later.

The SyJet was plagued by reliability issues and was discontinued in 1998 when SyQuest filed for bankruptcy and went out of business.
