EZ135

SyQuest released their first 3.5″ removable disk format in 1993, but in 1995 they released the 3.5″ EZ135 removable disk to compete with Iomega Zip in the consumer segment. Unfortunately, the EZ135 was not backward compatible with previous 3.5″ formats from SyQuest, but it allowed them to claim their disks had 35% more capacity then Zip disks.
In 1996 SyQuest released the EZFlyer 230 format which was almost twice the capacity and offered backward compatibility with the EZ135. With only one year in market, the EZ135 was a very short-lived format and Zip disks eventually won this format war.
